LaTeX templates: articles, reports and conference papers
General templates for articles, reports, letters and more, and look-alike layouts for common conference and journal formats. Each page shows the first page as Scissor LaTeX typesets it.
Three kinds of templates
Starting templates are ordinary documents: an article, a report and the like, written with standard classes and packages. Conference look-alike templates imitate the page layout of a paper format, with its columns, fonts and title block. Journal look-alike templates do the same for twelve journal author kits, from REVTeX and elsarticle to MDPI and AASTeX. Both kinds are made for drafting; before you submit, build the paper with the format's official files.
To start from a template, choose New project in the editor and pick one. Document classes explains how the class line chooses a layout.
Pages in this section
- Starting templatesWhen you create a project, you can start from nine general templates (blank, research paper, article, report, thesis, homework, lab report, letter and CV), six cards and print templates (envelope, postcard, business card, poster, certificate and flyer), nine conference look-alike layouts, or twelve journal look-alike layouts.
- Conference LaTeX templates: IEEE, ACM, CVPR, NeurIPS, ICMLScissor LaTeX has free look-alike templates for nine paper formats: IEEE, CVPR, ACM sigconf, Springer LNCS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL and the arxiv.sty preprint style. When your document uses the venue's class or style file, such as
IEEEtran,acmart,llncsor\usepackage{neurips_2026}, the editor lays it out in that format, with review and final modes where the format has them. - Journal look-alike templatesYes. When your document uses a journal class such as
revtex4-2,elsarticle,sn-jnl,amsart,IEEEtran,acmartwithacmsmall,aa,iopjournal,mdpioraastex701, Scissor LaTeX lays it out like that journal's format, with the modes the class has. Twelve templates start from one of them. - arXiv preprint LaTeX template (arxiv.sty style)arXiv accepts any layout; a popular preprint look is the community
arxiv.stystyle from github.com/kourgeorge/arxiv-style. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the arXiv preprint template, or add\usepackage{arxiv}to anarticle. The same.texcompiles with the original style file. - IEEE LaTeX template (IEEEtran conference)The official IEEE conference template is the
IEEEtranclass, from CTAN or your conference. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the IEEE template, or write\documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran}, and two-column pages appear as you type. The same.texcompiles with the official class. - CVPR LaTeX template (also ICCV and WACV)The official CVPR author kit is at github.com/cvpr-org/author-kit. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the CVPR template, or load
\usepackage[review]{cvpr}in a two-columnarticle, for the review copy with line numbers and anonymous authors, the rebuttal or the camera-ready layout. The same.texcompiles with the official kit. - ACM LaTeX template (acmart sigconf)The official ACM template is the
acmartclass, from CTAN or ACM's proceedings template page. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike of its sigconf format for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the ACM template, or write\documentclass[sigconf]{acmart}, and two-column pages with CCS concepts and keywords appear as you type. The same.texcompiles with the official class. - Springer LNCS LaTeX template (llncs)The official Springer LNCS template is the
llncsclass, from CTAN or Springer's proceedings guidelines. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the LNCS template, or write\documentclass[runningheads]{llncs}, for one column with numbered institutes and the class's theorem environments. The same.texcompiles with the official class. - NeurIPS 2026 LaTeX template (neurips_2026.sty)NeurIPS papers use the
neurips_2026.stystyle file from the call for papers at neurips.cc. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the NeurIPS template, or load\usepackage{neurips_2026}in anarticle, anonymous with line numbers by default, with the authors inpreprintorfinalmode. The same.texcompiles with the official style file. - ICML 2026 LaTeX template (icml2026.sty)ICML papers use the
icml2026.stykit from the author instructions at icml.cc. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the ICML template, or load\usepackage{icml2026}in anarticleand write the title block inside\twocolumn[..], and two-column pages appear as you type. The same.texcompiles with the official kit. - ICLR 2026 LaTeX template (iclr2026_conference)ICLR papers use
iclr2026_conference.styfrom github.com/ICLR/Master-Template. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the ICLR template, or load\usepackage{iclr2026_conference,times}in anarticle; the paper is an anonymous submission until you add\iclrfinalcopy. The same.texcompiles with the official kit. - ACL LaTeX template (also EMNLP, NAACL, ARR)ACL venues use the
aclstyle files from github.com/acl-org/acl-style-files. Scissor LaTeX has a free look-alike for drafting in your browser, with no account: start from the ACL template, or load\usepackage[review]{acl}in an 11 ptarticle, for two columns on A4 with line numbers and anonymous authors in review mode. The same.texcompiles with the official style files.
