How to make a table in LaTeX

  1. Type in the grid, or paste a table from Excel, Google Sheets, a CSV or Markdown.
  2. Choose the style, alignment, caption and label.
  3. Copy the LaTeX into your document.

Tables that look professional

Booktabs style uses the rules recommended for scientific papers: a strong line at the top and bottom and a light one under the header, with no vertical lines. Grid and lines styles are there too.

No more broken tables

Characters such as &, %, _ and # are escaped for you, while math between dollar signs stays as it is. Columns are padded so the source is easy to read.

LaTeX table generator: questions and answers

Can I paste a table from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Copy the cells, then use Paste a table. CSV files, Markdown tables and existing LaTeX tabulars work too.

Which packages does it need?

None for the lines, grid and plain styles. Booktabs style needs \usepackage{booktabs} in your preamble; the output reminds you.

Is my data uploaded?

No. The table is built in your browser.
